Connie Wendleton, Iconographer.
My art has been a part of me for most of my life. Born a Yankee, my early studies took place in Philadelphia, Providence, and New York City.
Despite life in the corporate world as a writer, I continued to study art whenever possible.
After retiring and moving to Pensacola, thanks to a workshop instructed by Teresa Harrison, I was introduced to the inspiring world of Icons. And they became my passion.
I find that iconography combines artistic skill and creativity with spiritual motivation, discipline and religious devotion.
Continuing my studies with Teresa, I have also studied with Phil Zimmerman and Patricia Resmondo, and at additional workshops given by Suzanne Schleck and Vladislav Andreyev.
My Icons have been displayed at Kunstlerhaus Gallery in Hermann, MO and can be found locally in Pensacola, Florida in private homes and some churches. Currently, many of my icons are on display at the Blue Morning Gallery on Palafox Place, downtown Pensacola, a co-op gallery where I am a member.
